Thank you for choosing A Lil Thyme for your next adventure. Please take a moment to read our rental terms. By placing an order, you agree to these terms, which ensure a smooth experience for everyone in our community.
Rental Terms & Conditions
This document is a legally binding agreement between you, the customer, and A Lil Thyme Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore with UEN No. 202536455R, (hereinafter referred to as "A Lil Thyme," "we," "us," or "our").
1. Definitions
For the purpose of this agreement, the following terms shall have the meanings below:
- Rental Item(s) or Item(s): The physical product(s) being rented by you from A Lil Thyme, including all included accessories.
- Rental Period: The duration of time between the start date and end date selected by you during the booking process, both dates inclusive.
- Retail Price: The price stated on our website for a new Item at the time of your booking.
- Store Credit: A credit that can be used for future rentals on our website and is valid for one year from the date of issue.
2. Eligibility & Your Booking
To rent from us, you must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident and at least 18 years old. By confirming your order, you affirm you meet these requirements. We will use reasonable commercial efforts to get your Rental Item to you one day before your Rental Period starts.
3. Changes to Rental Bookings
If you need to change your booking details, please let us know via WhatsApp at least 14 days before your rental start date. All requests for changes are subject to our approval. We reserve the right to decline any change request.
If your rental starts within 30 days of request and the approved change lowers the total rental price, we won't be able to provide a refund or credit for that difference. If the approved change results in additional charges, you must make the full payment for those extra fees at least 7 days before your rental starts. Otherwise, your entire booking will be cancelled automatically, and 50% of the amount you've already paid less a $10 processing fee will be transferred to your Store Credit.
We are not responsible for any losses or costs arising from a cancellation or refusal of a booking due to non-compliance with these Terms. For clarity, our records of communications and payments will be considered final in the event of any dispute.
4. Delivery & Your Responsibilities
Your Rental Item becomes your responsibility once our courier confirms delivery. This doesn't require a physical handover—the proof of delivery serves as the transfer of responsibility. From that moment until our appointed vendor collects the Item, you are responsible for its care. Our standard collection is scheduled for the day immediately following your final rental date. To facilitate smooth delivery and collection, please provide clear and complete instructions with your order.
5. When Things Go Wrong with Delivery
If we are unable to deliver your Item by the first day of your Rental Period for a reason within our control, we will offer you a choice: a full refund to your original payment method or 110% of the rental value as Store Credit. We are not liable for delivery failures outside our control, such as an incorrect address or security measures.
6. Returns, Late Fees, & Lost Items
All Rental Items and their associated accessories must be available for collection by our scheduled collection date. The garment storage bag is required to assist our sustainability efforts; if it is not returned, a $16 fee will be charged. If any accessory is not returned, you will be charged the full Retail Price of the entire set.
If collection fails for any reason, the Item will be considered a late return. Late returns will be charged a daily late fee of 3% of the Item's retail price, capped at 14 days.
If the Item is not returned within 14 days despite our attempts to contact you, we will consider the Item lost. At this point, you will be charged the full Retail Price, in addition to any accrued late fees. If these charges are not settled or the Item remains unreturned, we reserve the right to pursue all available remedies, including filing a police report.
7. Security Deposit or Credit Card Pre-Authorization
In order to secure your rental, we reserve the right to require a refundable security deposit or place a temporary pre-authorization hold on your credit card. This deposit or hold is not a charge but an amount held to cover any potential damages, unreturned accessories, or unpaid fees. The amount of the deposit or hold will be clearly communicated to you at our discretion and prior to the fulfillment of your order.
Following our inspection of the returned Rental Item, the deposit will be fully refunded or the pre-authorization hold released, typically within 7 business days. This is conditional upon the Item being returned in its original condition, with all accessories, and all fees having been paid. In the event of damage or outstanding fees, we reserve the right to apply all or part of the deposit or pre-authorized amount towards covering our costs.
8. Care for Your Rental
We've entrusted you with premium gear, and we know you'll treat it with care. Normal wear such as signs of use that can be easily cleaned is expected. Major damage is not acceptable. You are responsible for any damage that results in the Item no longer being in a rentable condition, including tears or unremovable stains. If the Item is deemed unrentable, you will be charged the full Retail Price for its replacement. Even after paying this fee, the Item remains the property of A Lil Thyme.
You must not attempt to repair, alter, or modify any of our Items. For extended rentals or persistent stains, you may arrange for professional cleaning at your own risk and expense, but only with our prior notification and approval.
Please report any damage promptly. If an Item gets damaged or stained, please let us know right away. This helps us provide guidance to prevent permanent damage.
9. Additional Payments & Fees
Any additional fees incurred after the Item has been shipped (including for late returns, damages, or unreturned accessories and garment bags) are due and payable within 14 days of the date you are notified. Payment must be made by bank transfer or PayNow. We reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies if payment is not received within this timeframe.
10. Cancellations
We know plans can change. You can cancel your booking for Store Credit. Please note that a $10 nominal fee will be deducted from your total Store Credit amount to cover admin and card processing fees. The resulting Store Credit you receive depends on when you cancel:
- More than 30 days before: 100% Store Credit
- 21-30 days before: 90% Store Credit
- 14-20 days before: 70% Store Credit
- 4-13 days before: 50% Store Credit
- Once the Item has been shipped: No Store Credit will be issued.
11. Service Continuity & Item Availability
If an Item you booked becomes unavailable due to a late return or damage, we will first offer a similar alternative Item. If you choose not to accept the alternative or none are available, we will offer you a choice: a full refund to your original payment method or 110% of the rental value as Store Credit.
12. Shipping & Address Requirements
Deliveries will only be made to verified residential addresses in Singapore. It is your responsibility to ensure the delivery address is valid and can receive Rental Items. If you rent Items on behalf of another party, you remain fully responsible and liable for those Items under these terms.
13. Our Right to Refuse Service
We may request proof of identity to ensure security and prevent fraud. A Lil Thyme reserves the right to refuse service at our sole discretion for any lawful reason, including abusive or harassing conduct, a reasonable belief that Items will not be properly cared for, criminal activity, or non-compliance with these terms. Refusal of service under these circumstances will not entitle you to a refund.
14. Limitation on Use
Rental Items are for personal, non-commercial use only. Commercial, illegal, or abusive use is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the rental and the imposition of additional charges.
15. Social Media & Intellectual Property
By tagging A Lil Thyme or using our official hashtags, you grant us permission to use your social media content for marketing purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.
16. Limitations of Liability & Indemnity
By renting from us, you agree that we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including personal injury or property damage, that may arise from the use or misuse of the Rented Items. You use the Items at your own risk. In any event, our maximum total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to your rental is strictly capped at the total rental fees you actually paid for that Item. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless A Lil Thyme from any claims, losses, or damages, including legal fees, resulting from your use of the Items or your breach of these Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
18. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to mediation in Singapore in accordance with the Mediation Rules of the Singapore Mediation Centre. If the dispute cannot be resolved by mediation, it shall then be referred to and finally resolved by the Courts of Singapore.
19. Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time and communicate these changes through your contact details. Your continued use of our services after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Force Majeure
A Lil Thyme will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, or other unforeseeable events.
21. Entire Agreement
This document represents the entire agreement between you and A Lil Thyme, superseding any prior understandings or agreements.
22. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue to be in full force and effect.
23. Reservation of Rights
A Lil Thyme reserves all rights not expressly granted in these Terms. No delay or omission by A Lil Thyme in exercising any right or remedy shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.

For all of your day-to-day updates, like delivery status or quick questions, we'll use the contact details you provided. It's your responsibility to monitor these channels for time-sensitive information.
Official Notices
For any important communications regarding additional fees or an outstanding balance, we will send them to the contact details you provided. These communications will be considered to have reached you within 3 hours of us sending them.
